We’ve heard some incredible stories here at RaisingNAD from consumers impacted by vitamin supplement Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews). Who can forget Mark’s story about his successful battle with epilepsy? What about Shelly overcoming RLS? The anecdotal evidence appears endless. Now comes airline pilot Dave Crouse with a story that should brighten your day and encourage you to never lose hope (please consider sharing your own NAD+ supplement experience below):
Dave Crouse (Comment originally posted HERE and confirmed via email):
“My wife and I were introduced to Niagen (NR) in 2015.
We were not very serious about taking it because we were in our mid 30s and assumed NAD+ levels were not an issue for us.
We couldn’t have been more wrong.
In 2016 my wife and I were having difficulty conceiving.
After 18 months we decided to see a fertility doctor.
The doctor suspected my wife’s eggs could have viability issues and recommended In-vitro fertilization.
After multiple rounds of IVF we were told that the eggs were not viable enough to support conception.
We became very discouraged but a friend of ours, who knew a great deal about NR, recommended she take 1000mg of Niagen daily.
He explained the benefits of cellular repair and NR’s role in supporting mitochondria.
Shockingly after 3 months of Niagen supplementation we conceived.
Considering the science on NR was young my wife stopped supplementation upon conception.
Our friend encouraged her to resume supplementation postpartum and throughout the breastfeeding process.
It’s possible that we have one of the first Niagen babies out there.
Interestingly, our little Niagen baby was riding her bicycle without training wheels at the age of 2, a feat her older brother did not accomplish until the age of 4.
It has been very exciting to see clinical studies come out of the fertility and lactation space.
We firmly believe NR can do wonderful things for mothers and their new babies.”
UPDATE from Dave:
“Age-related Oocyte quality was the reason IVF did not work for us.
We spent a lot of time and $$$ doing IVF which never did work.
We conceived after 3 months on Niagen (1000mg daily).
We definitely feel NR was the difference maker and we’ve been taking it ever since!”

Hello,
My wife and I are living a similar story that Dave and his wife. 37 years old, low egg quality. Multiple failed IVF. You said that Dave’s story was confirmed by email. Is there any way that we could contact Dave by email to ask him one question? Maybe if we could contact your website (RaisingNAD) by email or contact form, you could put me in contact with Dave? Thanks so much for your help! It’s a very important issue for us.
Ezra
We’ll happily make an intro via email. Thanks for your comment.

Just to add our 1:1 study
My wife was 39 when doing our IVF, in preparation she was using 500 mg of NR from Life Extension along with 100 mg Ubiquinol and 25 mg DHEA plus Multivitamins. 7 eggs in the first round, 1 managed to develop into a blastocyte. Success rate according to the clinic for her age would have been 21% for a successful pregnancy. That blastocyst developed into a super-healthy boy of 3,5 years now!
We stopped NR during pregnancy but added the Wurtman-protocoll for neural gains: Uridine, Fishoil and Cholin. Our boy was teaching himself reading at the ripe age of 22 months…and he has super clear vision while I myself needed glasses at that age.
