In a 2020 podcast, Harvard’s Dr. David Sinclair explained why he took (and continues to take) NAD+ boosting supplement NMN (FAQs and Anecdotes) over fellow NAD+ booster NR (FAQs) (Anecdotes). One of his reasons was that NMN was more stable. Is this in fact true?

Dr. Sinclair (2020 podcast):

“People ask me: why not NR?

NMN, first of all, it’s more stable on the shelf. So that’s good”

Sinclair said something similar on a 2019 podcast (57:55 mark):

“Make sure your NR and your NMN is kept in the cold.

If it’s just on the shelf and it’s not in a stabilized form, then it will degrade into Nicotinamide…”
