Chromadex (Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews)) management presented at the Benzinga Small Cap Investor Conference today. CEO Rob Fried and CFO Kevin Farr packed a lot into their 10-minute pitch on NR. Key quotes and video presentation below.
Chromadex CEO Rob Fried:
“….we also made a deal with Nestlé Health Science which is one of the world’s great food companies.
They have some scientists who are also world leading experts in NAD.
They recognize that this is an extremely unique product.
We gave them rights in TWO categories.
ONE is the medical foods category where it’s mostly institutional eating — in hospital feeding.
They also have the protein based meal replacement rights.
So, if the #1 ingredient in the product is protein, we gave them the right to create a product with Niagen — as long as it’s properly co-branded.
And, of course, as I said the medical foods.
They launched their first product which they call Celltrient two months ago.
We made this deal about 2 years ago. So it took them about a year and a half to create the brand.
By the way, they created this entire category, this entire brand Celltrient, around this ingredient Nicotinamide Riboside (NR).
Nestle is very bullish on NR and its benefits”.
Chromadex — A Science Company
“Chromadex at its core is a very strong science company.
We have a scientific advisory board that includes a Nobel Prize Winner from Stanford, Roger Kornberg in Chemistry…
….a Noble Prize Winner from Cambridge Sir John Walker in Biochemistry (my email exchange with him HERE). He won his Nobel Prize in Bioenergetics.
…We also have the co-head of the Department of Neurology at Harvard (and New England Patriots’ team sports scientist). That’s Rudy Tanzi…
…We also have the inventor of Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) that’s a precursor to NAD. That’s Dr. Charlie Brenner who is at the City of Hope.
We also have Dr Brunie Felding who is one of the country’s leading cancer researchers at Scripps Research Institute…
…as well as Bruce German who’s perhaps the world’s leading authority on MILK at UC Davis.
Some of the studies we’ve shown an increase in milk production when pregnant animals take TRU Niagen.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg with some of the indications — positive indications that we’ve shown by TRU Niagen.”
