We’ve heard a number of anecdotes from consumers claiming that NAD+ boosting vitamin supplement Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews) helped reduce or eliminate their arthritis. One example is Coach AJ (Anecdote #20). And, of course, this is no surprise to some with knowledge of metabolism and aging that raising NAD levels can be helpful in the fight against arthritis. For those looking for more evidence of the NAD-NR-arthritis connection, the following is a personal story in a short but substantive video from “Stay on the Health Track” (YouTube 2.7k subs):

Background (at the 30 second mark of the video below):

“…I have had arthritis in my hip.

And about a year ago it got to the point where I wasn’t able to walk anymore.

And I was in constant pain even when sitting or laying down.

And so sleeping became a challenge”

“My Experience Boosting NAD Levels (at 9:12 of the video below):

“…My story — I started out fasting.

And that fasting, as we already talked about, that actually does boost the NAD levels.

However, in my case it wasn’t sufficient in the sense that in six months I wasn’t free of arthritis.

I was doing so much better.

I was able to walk again — but there was still pain when I was walking.

So what I did when I learned about this — the only thing that I was able to get hold of at that time was another precursor to NAD.

This is not the best one by far — that is Nicotinamide — not Nicotinamide Riboside — just Nicotinamide.

The problem with Nicotinamide — as you can read in my article — is that it seems to be a sirtuin inhibitor, actually.

So, although you will be producing more NAD, you will also be inhibiting the sirtuin.

So, it’s not optimal — and also it seems to lead to greater methyl donor depletion in the body — which is also not a good thing.

So, that was the only thing I had access to.

So, I did use it for a month together with resveratrol.

And during that month I experienced a new level of of healing in my hip.

I was feeling a lot better.

After that I was able to get Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs).

As I started taking Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) — from studies I know that it takes about two weeks before you get to a higher NAD level and it becomes stable in your body.

So I did notice that that month — yet a new level of healing.

So, now for instance, I take 600 milligrams of Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs).

I take only 250 milligrams of resveratrol.

And I take a powder made out of grape skins — and another one made out of rose — you know the fruit of rose.

So, my dad makes these — and I just use the powders.

Apart from being able to feel a lot better in my hip — so positive effects when it comes to arthritis — I have also been able to feel that my energy levels are even more stable.

And mentally and emotionally I feel better — just more positive even when things are not going well I tend to automatically feel positive about what’s going to happen.

And I don’t have fear or depression coming up by itself.

Instead, if I don’t do anything, I just tend to feel better automatically by myself.

So physically, energetically, and mentally I’ve been feeling better.

And I know that some people need a few months of taking Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) before they notice any effects.

But in my case, even just one month has made a huge difference — especially when it comes to arthritis”

UPDATE (see the YouTube comments):

“Personally I am doing really well.

It is not totally gone.

When I try to run it becomes painful — but there is no more pain when it comes to walking, unless I try to walk fast for longer distances.

Also, no pain when sitting, laying, or standing.

…When starting, I felt a big difference when going from 300mg NR to 600mg, and have been taking that dose for around 10 months, while slowly becoming better and better”
