A few days ago, Chromadex Chairman Frank Jaksch spoke at the Healthspan Show. In a ~16-minute presentation entitled “Nicotinamide Riboside (NR): The Science of Aging, Cellular Health & NAD+ Precursors”, Jaksch explained NAD boosting vitamin supplement Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Anecdotes) in plain English:

At the 8 minute 30 second mark of the video below:

“…So what is Nicotinamide Riboside (NR)?

Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) is a ribose derivative of Niacinamide — meaning there’s a ribose attached to essentially a Niacinamide molecule.

NR is present in the food supply.

It’s a naturally occurring metabolite in milk.

However it’s only found in trace amounts in milk or other foods for that matter.

And diet alone will not provide you with enough Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) to provide any meaningful benefit or in any way that would be meaningful to restore disrupted NAD production”
