In a recent conference presentation entitled “Potential Impact of Nicotinamide Riboside (NR) on Maternal Health Outcomes”, Professor and Chemist Bruce German PhD of UC Davis showed the following short but remarkable videos of rodents supplemented with Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews):
Dr. Bruce German (The video was removed from YouTube, but his comments are transcribed below. He’s referencing the video at the bottom of this post.):
“These are the most astonishing videos in my memory in nutrition history.
These are videos of the offspring of mothers who had or had not NR and their ability to walk across a circular rod.
The pups on the lower video are the offspring of NR supplemented mothers.
The offspring of the non NR supplemented — but otherwise control mothers — they’re on the top.
These are the most vivid demonstrations of a spectacular effect of milk composition change on the outcome of these rodents.
It’s just spectacular.
…these observations that Charlie’s lab (Dr. Charles Brenner) made are dramatic for their impact.
We now have to understand them” (Dr. German is exploring this in clinical trials as we speak).
NOTE: Back in January 2019, Dr Charles Brenner discussed his group’s findings and the rodent videos (at the 5:05 mark) below:
“…We put them on a balance beam — and you can see that if mom was supplemented, they have much faster crossing time, fewer slips, and almost no tail grips….”
