During a recent episode of the Tara Lipinski podcast, fertility expert Dr. Aimee (aka “The Egg Whisperer”) was asked whether you should continue taking NAD+ booster Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (Reviews) after successfully getting pregnant. Here’s what she said (transcript and video below):
At the 35:50 mark of the podcast below:
HOST:
“So, obviously a lot of thought in egg health and conceiving.
But, then, when you actually get to the pregnancy, how could NAD help support pregnancy or even post partum?
DR. Aimee:
“So, pregnancy is the most energetically expensive activity the human body can maintain for 9 months.
And maintaining NAD+ levels can help support health pre, during, and postpartum.
So, I tell my patients to take it (NR) up until their first heartbeat ultrasound.
It actually may decrease risk and rates of pre-eclampsia.
We might learn more about that in the future.
And once we do know more about that, I will be recommending it (NR) throughout pregnancy as well”
