During a February 2026 podcast, Dr. Rhonda Patrick (Found My Fitness) asked NAD+ expert Dr. Charles Brenner whether taking NAD+ boosting vitamin supplement Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews) might help with fertility. Here’s their conversation (anecdotal evidence at the bottom):

Dr. Rhonda Patrick (video below):

”…it sounds like fertility wise, it might not be a bad idea to try Nicotinamide Riboside NR.

I do actually know some fertility doctors that do recommend tru niagen (NR) by the way, for fertility.

Dr. Charles Brenner:

“We know that it’s being done.

This is an area where it’s a little bit like the sports trainers being out ahead of randomized trials.

The animal results are so strong.

And generally the safety data are so comforting that there are a lot of women that are presumably taking 500 milligrams or a gram of niagen per day during pregnancy or to get pregnant.

Dr. Rhonda Patrick:

“Would that be the human equivalent dose from your animal study?

Would it be something like 500 milligrams?

Dr. Charles Brenner:

“Yeah, clinical doses are generally around a gram a day.

Dr. Patrick:

“A gram.

So that would be like two tru niagen (NR)?

Dr. Brenner:

“There’s different….

Dr. Patrick:

Okay…fascinating.
