In a segment this week entitled “What Regimen Does Dr. Oz Have His Mother On In Her Battle Against Alzheimer’s?”, Dr. Oz talked to Dr. Rudy Tanzi, Alzheimer’s expert and Professor of Neurology at Harvard. Dr. Tanzi offered a series of recommendations including taking NAD boosting vitamin supplement Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews).

DR. Oz:

“…Today for the first time, I’m sharing my Mom’s own regimen in her battle against Alzheimer’s.

I’ve invited here two of the leading experts in Alzheimer’s research and they’re my go-to partners in crafting my Mom’s treatment plan.

They’ve helped me too.

Dr Richard Isaacson, Director of the Alzheimer’s Prevention Clinic in the Center for Brain Health at Florida Atlantic University, and Dr. Rudy Tanzi, Professor of Neurology at Harvard, and head of the Alzheimer’s Genome Project where he co-discovered the very first Alzheimer’s gene.

Let’s start with Dr Tanzi…

….Next you suggested my Mom start on a vitamin regimen.

I got everything you recommended and shipped it over there.

So walk us through what that entails, Dr Tanzi”

DR. Tanzi:

“First of all, I want to say your mom looks beautiful. That’s just great.

Among vitamins, the ones that keep popping up as being the best for the brain and really the entire body are those that protect against inflammation — the biggest killer cells and those that provide the most energy to cells in the body and brain that helps them become resilient to Alzheimer’s pathology as it builds up with advancing age and in patients with Alzheimer’s.

So the most important ones turn out to be Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin B3 — which some people may not be as familiar with which is also known as Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Reviews).

Also good, and increasingly data show this are Omega-3 fatty acids like EPA and DHA.

Now you can get these from fish oil.

I get them from a vegan source.

If you’re using fish oil, it should be very clean.

These help fight inflammation which is the leading cause of nerve cell death in Alzheimer’s patients and as we age”
