During an appearance earlier this week on the HLTH Forward podcast, Chromadex CEO Rob Fried shared a somewhat surprising fact about consumers of his company’s key product, NAD+ boosting supplement Nicotinamide Riboside “NR” (FAQs) (Anecdotes). Here’s what CEO Fried said:
At the 9 minute mark of the podcast embedded below:
“The largest segment of consumers for tru niagen (NR brand) for awhile now has been women in their 30s.
Egg cells have NAD.
And the NAD levels begin to decline in your 20s, but dramatically in your mid-30s.
And you can see that these oocytes begin to deteriorate right around that time.
We have numerous studies, one that got published this week, that show that when you elevate NAD levels even in the egg cells, it improves their ability to repair.
So, in essence, it extends the fertility clock”
